Artworks

Answers & suggestions about Artwork Care & Maintenance
What is a limited edition artwork?
Fine art editions offer an affordable and accessible way to build an art collection. Editioned artworks can vary in medium (from prints and sculptures to utilitarian objects, for example) and are produced at one time by the artist in a limited number. No additional artworks are ever produced beyond the determined edition number, which is why they remain valuable investment opportunities.
How can I best care for my art print?
For two-dimensional artworks such as prints, best recommendation is you frame your new purchase as soon as possible using UV-blocking Plexi or glass as well as conservation-grade mat and board. If you want to store it for a later date, keep it in between archival sheets of paper in laying position at the dark place preferably an archival box.
How can I best care of my jewellery?
The best way to maintain your jewellery, in addition to wearing it, is an occasional buffing with a wool or jewellery rouge cloth. This not only preserves the beautiful patina as the metal ages but also imparts a more personal touch to your jewellery.
How can I best care of my apparel?
For best results wash inside out at 40ºC (or lower) with similar coloured garments. Do not use fabric softener and avoid ironing, if tumble drying use a low setting. When Air Drying straighten up and leave to dry inside out.
How can I best care of my painting?
For two-dimensional artworks such as paintings, best recommendation is to keep it away from the direct sunlight. Although Studio Daboo paintings are finished with UV protective varnish and have been made with high quality paint saturated with pigment, it is sensible to follow this advice if you'd like the painting to last for generations. Occasional dust wiping with a slightly damped soft cloth will keep the painting look fresh.
